A firmware update has been released for DJI Modify, to further enhance point cloud editing workflows.
Released on May 29, 2025, DJI Modify V1.4.0 introduces several advanced features to enhance precision and efficiency.
This includes:
- Point cloud quick selection which can automatically identify point cloud structures and then correct misclassified point clouds. This tool is perfect for point clouds that have already been automatically classified, and enables users to quickly select specific classes (eg, powerlines, poles, trees) with a single click.
- Features for partial point cloud smoothing, noise reduction, and point cloud density adjustment. This enhances the overall quality of the point cloud through automated algorithms.
- The new point cloud profile feature provides users with a detailed cross-sectional view of the point cloud. This is particularly useful for analysing and measuring specific features within a scanned environment.
The latest update continues Modify’s evolution as an end-to-end point cloud editing software, following the comprehensive V1.3.0 update that was released earlier this year.
It introduced features such as support for automatic point cloud classification; automatic point cloud smoothing, noise reduction, and downsampling; 3D display functions for point mesh, contour lines, and TIN terrain outputs; and point cloud brush selection and single selection features.
